Humanoids
Getting a Unitree H1 to unbox shoes
I owned Sereact’s humanoid demo for a funding round: from building the teleoperation and gathering the training data to a live demo on a Unitree H1, running NVIDIA GR00T on board.
- Role
- Owner of the humanoid demo
- Company
- Sereact
- Robots
- Unitree H1 and G1
- Stack
- twist2 teleoperation, imitation learning, NVIDIA GR00T
- H1and G1 humanoids, hands-on
- Livedemo for a funding round
- 6warehouse and retail use cases scoped
- TeleoperationWhole-arm, built with twist2
- DemonstrationsRecorded on the robot
- CurationSelected for training
- NVIDIA GR00TInference on board
- Live demoShoes out of the box
What I built
- Whole-arm teleoperation precise enough for manipulation, built with twist2.
- Led the collection and curation of demonstration data for imitation learning.
- Integrated NVIDIA GR00T for on-board inference.
- Delivered a live demo: opening a shoebox and taking the shoes out.
Manipulation in production
- A full depalletizing stack, built end to end: gripper integration, 6-DOF grasp generation, placement logic and pipeline execution. It runs in production across multiple customer sites.
- Integrated and deployed grippers and arms across Unitree humanoids, UR10, Yaskawa and ABB IRB 120.
Where humanoids pay off first
I scoped six warehouse and retail use cases where a humanoid earns its place, and picked the one I’d pilot first. Happy to walk through them in person.
Where I’m going
Humanoids are moving from demos to customer sites. That step is what I do: I’ve taken three robot products to customers, I own fleet management, and I know what it takes to keep robots running on someone else’s warehouse floor.
